25 YEARS OF SMILES, 25 YEARS OF MEMORIES
On this Thanksgiving weekend 2018, we give heart-felt thanks in so many ways - for an incredibly loyal & dedicated staff second to none, for incredible support from customers near & far & for “living our life like a song” over the years.
As most of our regulars know, we hoped to find someone to take over & continue our business but so far, sadly, that hasn't been the case. This summer we were close - & for fear of jeopardizing that deal, we couldn't share our plans before we “closed for the season”. It was, however, not meant to be.
We smile back on some of the highlights & memories of Blue Sky – years of being at the helm of the Northwest CT Parrot Head Club, coordinating a $10,000 donation to the Farmington River Watershed from Jimmy Buffett’s foundation, years of representing brick & mortar businesses on the New Hartford Business Council Board, conceptualizing Light New Hartford, being on the committee that created the Town’s first brochure, being #1 on TripAdvisor for years, rebuilding our business after a devastating fire in ’99, being featured on NBC’s “The Feast”, CPTV filming our fueling converted vehicles with our recycled fryer oil, turning down the Food Network because we knew in our hearts it wasn’t good for our business (what a hoot the interview was tho!), 1000’s of can tabs turned in for cancer research, donations to many causes that touched our hearts but mostly the day-to-day sharing of life's up'n'downs & our "beach food" with all of you!
But all good things must come to an end. When one door closes, another opens.
So, here’s to months that turned into years with the friends who turned into family. To all our friends & Blue Sky family, old and new, we send the traditional sailor’s parting – “Fair winds & following seas” in all that you do. We'll miss you.
We're retiring and off to new adventures! Mahalo.
